Miguel Machimbarrena (Apprentice at INGUN) & Judith Maier (Mobility Manager for the City of Constance)
Ditch the car and hop on your bike, this was the motto of this year's CITY CYCLING event. A total of 22 employees at the INGUN headquarters in the city of Konstanz took advantage of this and exhibited great sporting and team spirit.
CITY CYCLING is a campaign organised by the Climate Alliance, a network of European municipalities that develops local responses to global climate change.
For 21 days, INGUN was at the starting line with its own team to cover as many kilometres as possible by bike. And every kilometre counted - whether cyclist out of conviction, Pedelec fan, sports-oriented cyclist, user of a bicycle rental system or a shopper with a cargo bike.
In total, the INGUN team "covered" 6,370 kilometres during this period. For the district of Konstanz, this was enough for a top 10 ranking! In addition to a great team performance, the participant with the most kilometres biked in the entire district of Konstanz was also part of the INGUN team. A total of 1057.4 kg of C02 was saved by the kilometres travelled.
The competition was doubly worthwhile for our employees who took part in CITY CYCLING: Not only did they actively contribute to climate protection, they also did something positive for their health.
