Installation height

The installation height is the distance between the probe tip of the test probe in the home position (unloaded) and the probe plate. To regulate the installation height, the GKS are usually available with different collar heights. For some series, spacer sleeves which allow the installation height to be further adjusted are also available. Test probes with designations ending with "00" have no collar on the barrel. For these test probes the installation height is determined by the receptacle.

Depending on whether test pads or component pins are contacted, different strokes occur during contacting. In critical cases, adjusting the installation height accordingly is recommended. This is possible in almost all series either by adjusting the collar height of the test probe or receptacle, or with extended plungers (LH and LP versions are available in the series GKS-050, 075 and 100).
