Wire-wrap posts

The receptacles must be connected to the test system for signal transmission. A common type of wiring is the wire wrapping. A wire-wrap gun is used to wrap a stripped cable around the square post of the receptacle. This creates a secure and durable connection.

The wire-wrap post/connector consists of a four-edged post which commonly has 0.64 mm² edge dimensions. There is an exception for receptacles which are used in 1.27mm grids, which feature outer dimensions of 0.3 mm².
