Collar

The collar describes a change in diameter of the receptacle (KS), which is also used as a stop when it is pressed into the probe plate. Depending on the design of the test probe, the collar can be located at the end of or slightly lower on the receptacle.

Metric standard test probes also have a collar which serves as a stop when inserting the probe into the receptacle.
