Interconnect Components

reliable signal transmission in safety-related applications

In sectors such as medical technology and autonomous driving, interference-free electrical signal transmission is essential. Even the smallest interruptions can have serious consequences in life-support systems, such as pacemakers, or in vehicle sensors.

To ensure maximum reliability, single-sided spring-loaded, permanently contacted test probes, known as interconnect components, are used here. These extremely compact probes actively compensate for tolerances and are available as press-fit, plug-in or solder-in versions.

Rigid contact terminals provide the mating contact, ensuring a stable and durable connection. For high-current applications, versions with increased diameter, continuous plunger, and reinforced contact surfaces are also available.

Compact solutions for demanding applications

In addition to safety-critical applications, interconnect components are also used in numerous other applications: medical technology, consumer electronics and industry.

The contact transfers must function reliably even under harsh conditions, for example when moisture, sweat, or cleaning agents interact with the contact point. In combination with the flow of electrical current and various metals, a galvanic element, which accelerates electrochemical corrosion, can form.

Using specialised materials and coatings, INGUN ensures stable, durable contact and maximum corrosion resistance.

Short-stroke test probes have an impressively compact design and are particularly suitable for transmitting signals and currents in threaded or magnetic connectors, as well as for contacting batteries.

For applications that require easy replacement of probes, short-stroke test probes in combination with receptacles are recommended.

Solderable test probes are the best choice for reliably connecting multiple printed circuit boards. They are soldered directly onto the printed circuit board, without the need for additional receptacles.

The G versions with airtight barrels prevent solder from penetrating the interior of the test probe. For large quantities, the test probes can be supplied in assembly tapes – ideal for automated feeding to pick-and-place machines.

Contact terminals are often used as rigid counterparts to spring-loaded short-stroke test probes. They ensure reliable, low-loss transmission of signals and currents.

Contact terminals are available in various installation heights – with wire wrap posts, solder cups, or as directly solderable versions. This creates a stable, precision-fit interface.

High-current transmission up to 400 A

Interconnect components with larger diameters are the ideal choice for applications involving continuously high currents, mechanical stress, and harsh environmental conditions. Thanks to their low internal resistance, they enable low-loss transmission of electrical energy with minimal heat generation.

Their particularly robust design with stable threaded connection ensures secure, mechanically durable installation, and direct connection of high-current cables. Depending on the type of application, high-current transfers consisting of a test probe and matching contact terminal are available for continuous currents from 25 A to 400 A.
